Sewing Madness!

by Ty 30. August 2009 17:04

Since getting a sewing machine a few months back, I have become a big fan.  I wonder now why It took me so long, as I have always been a crafty fella.

I have to shout out to my friend Julie for getting me started with this stuff, teaching me the ropes and answering my questions, Thank you Julie!!

But if you don’t have that luxury, you can ask someone at the local craft store, they are likely to know (if they sell fabric and sewing supplies) the answers to any questions you might have.  Also, I can try to follow up on any questions posted into the blog.

Here are some pictures of things I’ve done within the past couple of months, and ideas for you as well:

Reupholster that nasty old, couch that you have been wanting to replace.

Make some pillows for the new couch.

Couch Pillows

Make some curtains to accent the newly refurbished couch.

Curtains Livingroom

Make the perfect computer bag.

Alter the jacket that doesn’t fit quite right, and switch out the arms for something more flashy and stylish.

Altered and Re-Armed Jacket

Make some bedroom curtains that actually keep the light out at the crack of dawn.

Reupholster the most uncomfortable desk chair you have ever owned, adding more padding to it.

Nice one! I admire you. Honestly, I don't know how to use sewing machine or even sew by hands. You are really creative. Two thumbs-up! :) *clap*

Thanks for your feedback, and I'll post some new sewing content soon, as I've just finished doing a comforter, pillow cases and curtains.  The couch is 90", and all of it was done over the course of about 2 months, there is a small learning curve with the machine, but once you get the swing of it, you'll be doing stuff like above in the span of a week or two.
